If you are presenting or pitching....

Well Lotusphere is coming.  Still not sure if I'll be there or not this year (I went in 2003 and 2006).  Some of you may be presenting.  If you're not presenting at LS 2007 then maybe you're presenting or pitching to a customer, peers or bosses at work.

If you are then I have two recommendations (both books):

The first is Presenting to Win by Jerry Weissman available from Amazon.  It's a comprehensive guide to presenting and telling a good story.  It has a ton of techniques and real life examples to help you with structure, flow, style and capturing your audiences attention straight away. Endorsements also come from companies like Intuit, Coke, Intel and Cisco.

The second is How not to come second: the art of winning business pitches by David Kean  this one is more relevant to pitching for new business.  It's mostly common sense but it's down there in black and white and I found it really useful for a couple of presentations I gave at interviews recently.  Ironically I came second but I think this book helped me focus on what I needed to consider as I prepared.  Hopefully next time I'll come first
