Downloadable BlackBerry version of Lotusphere Party Application (version 1.2.3) coming 3rd January 2007

I have a downloadable version of the BlackBerry application ready to go.  I'd like to go with for Julian's suggestion for the name (thanks Julian!).  Before I make it available and I will make it available later today (if necessary with a different name) I want to run the name past RIM.  AFAIK they are a big Lotusphere sponsor and I'd hate to offend them.  Personally I think they'll be OK with it but I'd be dumb not to check.

For the uninitiated craic is an Irish (Gaelic) word meaning good fun/banter with good company.  It's pronounced crack and has nothing to do with illicit drugs!

So there you go.  One way or another it'll be installable over the air 2mrw.  It's ready for a public airing and I'm really keen to release it. I've mailed the go to person at RIM and so let's see what happens.

And then when that's done I can talk to you about how and why I'm going to make the source code available for both the Web app and the BlackBerry app

Since this is my first entry of the year: I hope 2007 brings you lots of personal and professional success and as much happiness as you can handle..

TTFN,
Jason

OK I decided to wait for a response from RIM before publishing, I think they like the name but they have a brand to protect.

Frankly I'd rather go with the right name from the start rather than just getting it out because I said I would.

I considered releasing it with the name craicCaor pronounced crack-er (if you're interested you can get the meaning from an online irish dictionary if you split the two words) but I'm going to wait until 2mrw (actually later today!) before deciding what to do.

Don't tell my wife but I've done it again (stayed up half the night making things better). I altered the web app so that I can change key settings, including titles etc from a configuration document which, I know, I should have done in the first place  I also did the same for the BlackBerry app with a resourcebundle. Finally I added an Easter egg to the bb app which I might hide a little deeper 2mrw. I also repeated some testing.

Need to sleep now before the household wakes up in about an hour and a half! Talk to you later...
