Sunday at Lotusphere

I had a great day yesterday!  Declan and Steve's session on Blogging was great, a lot of laughs (trees) and some new tips on using Blogsphere.  Including Bill's advice for blogging which though not quite as comprehensive as IBM's seem wise:

Don't Blog about cheese;
Don't Blog Drunk;
Don't Blog naked;

Maybe I'd also add
Don't blog tired (and I was tired last night)

Wes Morgan's session on Sametime Architecture was an eye opener both in terms of how good a speaker he is and from the content.  I've really got a good conceptual understanding of the Sametime architecture now, great session!

I saw Daniel (Nashed) for the first time in more than a year and he gave me a CULT t-shirt, thank you Daniel.

And then on to the Beach party, I caught up with some friends from England, including Ian White and guys from Teamstudio.  But the highlight was this wee Scotsman, half naked and covered in beard and cake and more hair singing and dancing.  Paul Mooney had organised a (great) cake for Bill's 40th Birthday and distributed some around Bill's face .  He also gave him one of those t-shirts that react to sound with a graph which came in handy later

From there to Jellyrolls for the Official Birthday bash.  I hope you didn't miss this one, but if you did there will be a million pictures already and I'm sure some YouTube footage.  Imagine Bill, shirt back to front in HUGE yellow clogs and bermuda shorts dancing across a stage in front of 400 people (maybe more) it was hilarious!  Anyway great music and company.  There should be an award for the individual that has provided the most entertainment during Lotusphere trouble is as someone said Bill would get it every year!

So today, I'm going to make a late appearance arriving to hold the clipboard and iPod stopwatch at the Boatrace I was hoping to get my guitarplaying fix at what used to be mars on Colonial Dr. but I'm running too late now.  If you get to the boatrace say hello I'll be in the brown check shirt.

After that I need to add more stuff to the craicBerry database and see the guys at Research in Motion so I'll be around the showcase floor.

Take it easy,
Jason
