2 Hours sleep.....
Bill, JVS, Andrew and I sat up 'till about 4am this morning putting the world to rights giving us about 2 hours sleep each. A couple of us commited to entering session abstracts for next Lotusphere and I challenged all of them to give up smoking for next Lotusphere. I'd like them to live longer
Due in no small part to the 12 year single malt being drunk (not by me I'm driving) or tiredness we got all deep and meaningful towards 4am. I can't remember the last time I had such a really sensible and rewarding conversation. Whilst I don't always have the best luck I have something better: really good friends (you know who you are) ![]()
I went to Paul and Bill's Worst practices first thing now they are a funny double act and if you went and thought Bill was on fire he was doing that on two hours sleep! I on the other hand feel like death warmed up right now so if you see me (you might) be gentle ![]()
Daniel's sesssion on SMTP was really interesting, sadly I had to leave early to queue for a Sametime Hands on. I left that session early too. I have the hands on manual it's pretty easy to get one server up and running. No doubt a little trickier to tune.
I have to spend some time on the Showcase floor now. I can't say that I really like the experience much do you? That said It's good to see what's cooking and there are some really smart people doing some very smart things this year.
Oh I went to the RIM party last night and found a really good non alcoholic beer o doul's or something. Slightly odd definition of non-alcoholic with .5% alcohol. I wonder if it would be possible to actually get drunk or exceed the drink drive limits (sobriety) drinking that? Not sure what the half life of alcohol is but I susprect you'd have to drunk a lot very quickly. Anyway normally that type of beer tastes very hoppy but the o douls tasted quite normal. The party itself was great I met a lot of really cool people there.
That's it I'll dig out my notes and see if I have anything really useful to say a bit later but for now I'm going to try and sleep and walk and talk at the same time on the showcase floor!

I believe we did indeed get the world right, even if only for a while. It was a pleasure getting to know you a bit, and I wish you the best in 2007!
For a while it seemed odd to get to see the best of friends only once a year, but I'm starting to get used to it. See you next January!
Andrew I was just talking to Bill about you yesterday. I had the good fortune to meet you at Lotusphere and hope to meet you @ LS2008. Blogging yet? Best wishes for 2007!
