Good News, The Brits, and searching for a new car
Last week I accepted an offer of a new job
Very definitely Notes & Domino with opportunities to learn new skills. The roles has opportunities for both Admin and Development work. Lot's of exciting opportunities ahead! And after 10 years of working for consultancy firms I'm going to work in house and I'm really excited about it! I'm not sure what the new companies blogging policy is yet so I'm not going to mention the company name.
I'm now in the market for a new car and have been looking around, it looks like I'll go for a Vauxhall Astra or Volkswagen Golf or similar but the jury is still out. I had a Chrysler Caliber as a hire car recently it was quite nice but I think 11500 is a little too much for what it is. I used to own a Subaru Impreza Turbo (230 bhp 0 - 60 in 6 seconds) but I'd be crazy to buy one now (though I still want one
). Motorpoint have some reasonably priced cars (they grey import from places like Cyprus I think). Does anyone have any horror stories about them?
I watched the Brit awards (like the US Grammy's?) last night and I was struck by the marked improvement in British Music of late. I was really pleased to see Amy Winehouse win an award (even if she seemed underwhelmed by it) and the Killers too. What about Russel Brand? Apparently ITV received floods of complaints following his jokes about friendly fire, drug taking and cheap shots at Briney Spears. I'm not surprised. You can forgive a lot of things if someone is funny and for me Brand should be hilarious. After all British eccentrics are my bag. But I just don't get him. I sometimes think he's trying to impersonate Kenneth Williams without actually coming anywhere close.... Am I missing something?

Congratulations Jason.
It sounds a little weird but I've had good experiences of eBay for second hand cars. May be worth a look if you feel like taking a punt.
Matt
Not missing anything Jason. I can't stand Brand either, just don't find him funny.
Cars - don't know what to suggest probably the Golf.. But that said the Seat's are good value.
Hi Tim,
It's a shame he's not funny. I really want to like him. And I think I do until he crosses the line and becomes crude trying to be funny and I end up feeling emabrassed for him.
Right now the VW range doesn't offer great value for money , I'll have a look at Seat and probably Skoda too but may go for a SsangYong Rodius and a Ford Fiesta to replace the Mazda.
Thanks again,
Jason
