Spice Girls reunion, who cares!
Back in my youth when I was prepared to get fired from a job rather than cut my shoulder length hair, my favourite bands were Iron Maiden and Marillion.
Marillion's starting line up included Fish sadly he parted company with the band (according to Wikipedia) in 1987 and a more commercial Marillion was born with Steve Hogarth on vocals. To be honest I haven't cared much for the new Marillion.
Anyway to cut a long story short Fish appeared on stage with Marillion for the first time in 19 years at a UK festival for just one song as reported by the BBC.
Fish apparently rules out a full reunion though I hope he and Marillion reconsider, because I for one would love to go back to my youth just for one evening.
An aside I see Steve Rothery and I have two things in common: we play guitar and we're both much heavier than we used to be
Finally on the subject of going back I heard this poem read by the author Felix Denis on Radio 4 a few weeks ago I like it:
Never go back. Never go back.
Never return to the haunts of your youth.
Keep to the track, to the beaten track,
Memory holds all you need of your youth.
Never look back. Never look back.
Never succumb to the gorgon's stare.
Keep to the track, to the beaten track,
Nothing is waiting and no-one is there.
Never go back. Never go back.
Never surrender the future you've earned.
Keep to the track, to the beaten track,
Never return to the bridges you've burned.
Never look back. Never look back.
Never retreat to the "glorious past".
Keep to the track, to the beaten track,
Treat every day of your life as your last.
Never go back. Never go back.
Never acknowledge the ghost on the stair.
Keep to the track, to the beaten track,
No-one is waiting and nothing is there.

Love the poem. I think there's always a way back though (nudge nudge wink wink.)
Love ya Jason.
